CONGRATULATIONS to the BHS CLASS OF 2024!
Following this dress code will allow you to participate in the BHS graduation ceremony on May 16, 2024. You must be here at 6:15 p.m. to check in for attendance and dress code procedure with your homeroom teacher.
DRESS CODE FOR EVERYONE – CAP, GOWN, & STOLE
NOTHING CAN BE ADDED TO YOUR CAP
DRESS CODE FOR GIRLS
1. Dark (navy or black) dress shoes or sandals
2. NO HIGH HEELS (because of turf field) & NO FLIP FLOPS
3. Hem of your outfit must not show below the robe
4. No bows, beads, or large barrettes in hair
DRESS CODE FOR BOYS
1. White dress shirt- short or long sleeves
2. Dark (navy or black) tie or bow-tie
3. Dark (navy or black) dress pants
4. Dark (navy or black) dress shoes and socks- NO FLIP FLOPS
GRADUATION PRACTICE IS MANDATORY to participate in the graduation ceremony. Practice is Wednesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. in the gym. Enter through the gym lobby doors; DO NOT come through the main office. BHS will host the annual senior cookout following the graduation practice. Dress code is casual; however, remember you will be on school property. Respectable attire is required- if you are asked to leave practice due to inappropriate clothing, you will not be allowed to walk for graduation.
The Baccalaureate Service for the Brighton High Class of 2024 is Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. Attendance to Baccalaureate is optional. The dress code for Baccalaureate will be gowns & no caps (no cords or honors). Participating students will need to meet in the cafeteria no later than 6:15 p.m.
Elementary School Graduation Walk is a tradition started several years ago. You can return to your elementary school for a celebratory walk through the school. This is optional, and you have to provide your own transportation. These are the schools partnering with BHS:
Atoka Elementary School – Monday, May 13 @ 8:00 a.m.
Austin Peay Elementary School – Tuesday, May 14 @ 8:00 a.m.
Brighton Elementary School - Wednesday, May 16 @ 8:15 a.m.
Munford Elementary School - Monday, May 13 @ 8:00 a.m.
GRADUATION TICKET LIMIT – There will be a ticket required for graduation (inside or outside). This is due to the turf field and the new track; guests can only sit in the bleachers.
